Light painting
My Light Paintings are hand-painted on cotton canvases, using acrylic paints. Interactive lighting is then built into the piece, adding a hidden layer that only appears once the lighting is switched on. The lighting itself is adjustable through a dedicated mobile app where you can set up color, brightness, light effects and animations.
About
Gosia Smith is a Poland-based artist working at the intersection of traditional painting and new media. Her work explores the relationship between people, humans and technology. Music is a major influence on her practice, which led her to painting album cover art alongside her fine art work.
She studied Fine Arts at AKI ArtEZ Academy of Art and Design in Enschede, Netherlands, working across painting, sculpture, photography, film, performance, printmaking, and graphic design. She is currently studying Media Art at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw.
Her work has been shown in solo exhibition and group exhibitions in Poland and the Netherlands. Her artworks are part of private collections in Poland and the Netherlands.
